Description
Shuangmamu longan, also known simply as Shuangmamu, is a variety of longan. The mother tree originates from a seedling tree in Hehuadong Village, Caojiang Town, Gaozhou. The tree was named Shuangmamu because it has two main trunks that grew together (“shuangma” means “twin” in Chinese). This variety is highly resistant to adverse conditions, grows quickly, and is known for its stable and high yield. In the Gaozhou region, the fruit matures from late July to early August, making it an early mid-season variety. The fruits are large, uniform, and attractive, with a crisp flesh and a high edible rate. Shuangmamu Longan is known for its excellent flavor and is ideal for fresh consumption, as well as processing.
