Description
Strawberry guava, also known as Cattley guava, or cherry guava, is an edible guava variety native to Brazil. Strawberry guava is a tree with smooth bark that peels off in sheets. The leaves are leathery, oblong to elliptical, entire, with pointed or blunt tips; the petals are white, and the berries are spherical, oval or pear-shaped. The fruit has a purple-red or yellow outer skin and a white interior. It is eaten fresh or processed into juice, jelly, etc. It is relatively cold-resistant and can be used as a guava rootstock. It is one of the fine varieties of guava.
