Description

Chu Hong kiwi is a red-fleshed variety of the Chinese kiwi fruit, classified as an early-ripening red-hearted cultivar with excellent overall characteristics.

The fruit is oblong or elliptical in shape and medium-sized, with an average weight of 80 grams and a maximum weight of 121 grams. It has a deep green skin with a hairless surface. The central axis of the fruit exhibits a striking red hue, while the cross-section displays a visually appealing color gradient from green to red to light yellow.

The flesh is delicate, juicy, and has a rich, sweet flavor. The soluble solid content is 16.5%, reaching up to 21% at its highest.

Chu Hong has moderate storability, softening after 7–10 days at room temperature and beginning to deteriorate around 15 days. Under refrigeration, it can be stored for more than three months.
