Description
Pearl guava is an excellent variety of guava introduced from Taiwan. This variety has vigorous growth and high yield. It is usually planted in March and can be put into production in September of the same year. The fruit of pearl guava is approximately oblate or round, with a yellow-green peel, thin peel, thick flesh, sweet and crisp flesh, small fruit core and few seeds. The single fruit weighs 400~600 grams, with a maximum of 1000 grams. It is of good quality and resistant to storage. The flesh of pearl guava is white, crisp and sweet, slightly sour, with a small fruit core, tender and smooth with few seeds, good flavor quality and high sugar content. Pearl guava blooms and bears fruit all year round in tropical area, and the fruiting period is mostly concentrated between July and September.
