Description
“Soft Branch Baisha” is acclaimed as the “finest of loquats” and is an early-ripening white-fleshed loquat variety. In the Shanghai region, it matures in mid-to-early May. The fruit is oblate or round, with an average weight of about 35 grams, and larger fruits can reach up to 70 grams. The skin is light yellow, thin, and easy to peel, while the flesh is yellowish-white or milky white, with a delicate texture, abundant juice, and a rich, fresh flavor. It has a high sugar content, with soluble solids averaging around 15.5% and occasionally exceeding 20%. The edible rate is over 70%.
